For Lula’s freedom, activists start hunger strike and demand justice from Brazil’s Supreme Court

“Community fasts, solidarity actions, days of demonstration and mobilization wherever we are,” a striker claims.

Six activists from people’s movements will start an indefinite hunger strike at 4pm local time this Tuesday outside Brazil’s Supreme Court building in Brasília. The sit-down aims to demand justice in the country’s judicial system and freedom for ex-president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
